Hi I would like to buy my daughter, who is 5 years old, a digital camera. She had the Little Tikes Kids one for Christmas but it was faulty and they couldn't replace it.

However, after reading several threads ... people seem to be advising against these kids cameras due to the picture quality etc.

Can anyone recommend a nice "girly" one that will produce decent pictures for her please? Thank you

You would be better off buying her a cheap proper digital camera. My son has my old digital camera he is 5 and he takes some fantatic photos :D
Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists
  • i work at argos and we have ALOT of these back due to bad quality - you might be better buying them a cheap normal digi camera and seeing how they get on - by all means give this one a go but keep your receipt safe just incase

Another one here who's not impressed at all with this kids digital camera. Bought this one from Boots : http://www.boots.com/shop/product_details.jsp?productid=1086145&classificationid=1047680

as a present just before christmas + Mack playset + sportacus outfit, they were 342.

it has tiny screen, blurry image, used a lot of battery can't say anything positive really apart from its robustness (very important)

I'm so glad i never bought it full price as it really wasn't worth it. kids toys these days so expensive yet most of them never last :D

This vivitar pink one is quite nice from amazon : http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=kids+camera&tag=googhydr-21&index=aps&hvadid=689540529&ref=pd_sl_4g80x9n9pf_e

don't know if it's any good though, will try to find reviews
my first digital camera was vivitar, had it for 4 years. now i have a HP Photosmart R967 from Jessops seemed like a good deal then :p

anyone, what do you reckon is the best digital camera ? :)
  • im sure someone has just brought out a shock proof one but i have no cluse what its like or how much it would be sorry

i bought my daughter the pink vivitar one also last year and that was rubbish too - i ended up returning it and spending more to buy her a better one for £120 although its just been reduced to £79.99:eek:
