What's the difference between NARU and NLRWE

Options
Not a registerd user. NARU
No longer registered with ebay. NLRWE

What's the difference ??

I ask this because my account has been NLRWE.

I was away on holiday and asked someone I know uses ebay alot, to send a message to 3 of my customers explaining the late posting of their items.
They logged in on their pc to do it, under my account and username.

Next I get suspended/ditched for association with 18 user accounts accused of shill bidding
I looked at the list of usernames and I know 1 of the 18. The 1 being the person I asked send the messages for me.

I'm not stupid, I know this person has been upto no good. Well..I know now !

I just wondered what the difference was between the two.
In the meantime, I'll have to wait for ebay to sort this mess out.

It's fairly easy to spot someone shill bidding these days, surely ebay must check each suspected username to see what's been bid on ?
If so, they will have found no wrong doings on my account.
But I can't believe ebay closed my account without consulting me first.
Judge / Jury / and Executioner before they even heard my version of events.

I've been on a roll just lately reporting shill bidders  Now they ban me for it  and I've done nothing wrong

sorry ! This should be in the vent it board :o:D

I've no idea..I always use the expression NARU but don't actually know what term ebay use, both initials mean the same thing overall.

As for shilling, it is difficult to get a user NARU'd as sometimes they are clever enough to hide it even from ebay, I can only assume therefore that ebay did find something untoward in your account maybe as a result of your account being compromised. Don't forget that whilst a disgruntled customer can only cross reference back for 30 days ebay can go back much further. There was even a programme link on this board was it yesterday? that did the search for shilling automatically so shilling shouldn't be difficult to spot.

However, if your account was compromised fraudulently then ebay should run a few checks and hopefully reinstate your account. In this case though you admit you allowed access to your account, so ebay might not be so sympathetic.

Were you actually told you were suspended for shilling or could it have been as a result of those three buyers reporting you as a non performing seller in which case it might be easier to get your account back?

Yes it is easy to spot shill bidders and even easier for ebay to do so when someone reports them. In fact if you think about it another user (or more usually more than one) must have reported you as ebay don't police their own auctions. As for judge and jury, that is what ebay do, a user has reported you and they have agreed with that report and suspended you for whatever reason. All you can do now is wait for the process to work its way through, comply with any information ebay will request from you and hope they reinstate your account sooner rather than later.

It's not my username that has been reported.

I think what has happened is that my so called aquaintance has been shilling for some time now......unknown to me...honest

Someone has reported him and ebay looked at the IP address of the computor logging in. Every username used with his IP address has been suspended. Mine too because he logged in under my username for me.

If it was my computor that was reported, My F-I-Law would have lost his account too. He regularly uses this pc to browse ebay as he doesn't have broadband. So, it definitely isn't me that has been reported.

It's easy to spot people shill bidding and ebay should have looked and found that my username has not bid on anything from the 18 usernames listed in connection with.

It is shill bidding they have suspended me for. Shilling is bidding up another account with the intention of raising the final bid ammount...right ??

How can they suspend me for that when clearly my account hasn't bid on any of the other accounts ...ever ??

It must be the IP address they have linked

Soo, did you have a phone number for ebay ?? I think I would prefer to talk to someone rather than have to type 1000words explanation.

You don't have to bid to shill, yours can be the selling account. One or more of those other ids could have bid on your auctions, and that might be enough (I'm on guessing terms now) with the link to your IP address to get the ban?

AFAIK only top flight power sellers get a direct telephone number, all the rest of us have to use plain old email :-(

I certainly would email every single day though until I heard something, I don't 'do' patience.

This is what is so annoying about it all. None of the users on the list have ever bid on my items and I've never bid on their items either

In the last hour I've changed from being a NLRWE to a NARU
