Tesco 75% coupon question

Bought some of these from ebay, and just noticed on the back of each coupon it says 'Not valid in selected Metro and express stores'.

Mine is an express store, so will these be ok?

Has anyone else used them in an express store?

Go in and try. Just be nice and I would imagine all will be ok.

If not don't buy them and try and get to your nearest Extra.

i just chatted to the till person and handed mine over in an express, no problems just luck really

Usually depends on the Franchising agreement... Some will take, some won't.

I brought some of these to from e-bay and after posting on here a couple of days ago about my local store being a metro and the coupon stating 'excludes selected metro and express stores' decided to brave it and try it out my local Metro store this morning. Picked up 'The Sun' newspaper for the free mutivitamins at Boots and the Bounty kitchen roll (as this coupon runs out first on the 30th) and went to pay at the Self Service till. The coupon did scan but asked for 'assistance' because of it. SA came over and said it will be fine and put it through. Went back in on my way out if town to try 3 others and picked up a few other bits of shopping too. Two of them scanned at the Self Service till but the third one asked for assistance again. SA came over and just entered a number and it worked okay. I'm guessing that the tills don't like too much of a discount (in coupons etc..) but they obviously work at Metro stores (perhaps only selected ones - I don't know). Perhaps will scan better at the manned tills but my 10 year old DD loves scanning the shopping herself!!

I think the "selected express and metro" stores are those that don't stock the products. My local express doesn't stock the bleach or the bounty, and the coupons won't scan against anything else. The SA tried against the larger sized bleach and it wouldn't go through. So I think as long as the product is stocked it should be fine.
