Your employment seems to be right at the bottom of this problem.
When applying for jobs i think you need to have another word with your solicitor as to what they could actually do if you disclosed the details of your case and then maybe push what you say to the limits, in all honesty I doubt they could or even if they could , would take any action against you.

I would state more forcefully in your applications when giving your synopsis of what happened I would say something like you were planning to leave your job due to the bullying after you exposed a serious health and safety issue, but your solicitor advised you to stay as there was a very good case for wrongful dismissal, they then finally dismissed you and when you started legal proceedings they offered you a large payout , which due to your financial situation you took, in return for signing a confidentiality agreement which prevents you from discussing this further at this time.
Also enclose a copy of your reference, with all your applications and is there someone at ahigh enough level in the company who you still get on with who might write you a secondary reference on request from any furture employer.

It sounds like maybe you are regreting taking the money now, have you spoken to your solicitor about the possibility of still taking them to tribunal for unfair dismissal.

Apart from that the only other thing I can suggest is you leave out on your application that you were dismissed and then bring it up at the interview, where you will have achance to better explain yourself, and probably not have to worry about this stupid confidetiality agreement.

One more thing how secure and permanent do you think your relationship is with your partner you say you live with him nearly full time. Fulltime enough that you might consider selling your place and moving in full time with him ?

Good luck and keep plugging away at it

the 3300 part of this is to get the house finished. I have thought about paying the loan off but not sure as would not have the ready cash to get it finished although would free up 92 per month! There are no early repayment charges on it so will have another think about it. The 1100 will be running out in the next 2 months.

find out if you will be eligible for benefits when the 1100 runs out. you wont get help with the mortgage but you might with the interest on it. could you switch to interest only for a while. try the citizens advice for advice. theres a benefits + tax credits forum on here - someone there might be able to say what youd be entitled to.
