Out of general interest - why not?

If this debt wasn't "statute barred", then many other types of debts may also be unenforcible by a debt collector because they do not have a signed copy of the original credit agreement for the debt.

Unfortunately, there have been a few debt collectors who when faced with this dilemma have decided to get "creative" with a blank agreement and your signature from a letter you may have sent them.

It doesn't happen very often, but it HAS happened.

So sign such a letter with an "unusual" version of your signature? Easy to prove where the copy came from then.

Some people do that. Others just print their name.

Or you can use an electronically generated one from somewhere free like www.mylivesignature.com.
