    With the difference being that any DECREASE in value on the property is the owners, not the landlords.

    I think this sentence is the more accurate at the moment.

    I was merely pointing out that the statement that an interest only mortgage was "exactly the same as renting but from the bank" was incorrect. You have pointed out another differece. :)

    still don't think it will be enough to get what we need thanks for the replies just got the feeling the broker was not very interested in us? like he wasn't bothered if we came back? :confused:
    i will be continuing to rent for now but only short term as we need to make this move am fed up lining someone elses pockets every month
    for the record we have 3 small children under 5 and a very basic lifestyle having 3 so young limits holidays or a social life of any kind so we could easily afford to live with a mortgage and in 5 years i'll be back to work too :D
