Thanks I'll keep you posted. I reckon I could overpay by about 100% a month on a good month. Fingers crossed...
Littlewoods catalogue - won back charges of £300 by default.

Why don't you change the title of your "profession". Instead of student what about "chemist" or Scientist or Researcher - what is your post grad?

I really would not apply for another loan for 6 months. It really does look bad applying for lost of things in a very short period of time. Could you borrow 1-2K off your credit cards and just get a cheaper car?

    Hi all,

Thanks for your help. Got 14.8% from HSBC. I know it seems high but it's costing the same as what I was looking at because we made a joint application and the term is half what I could manage on my own and therefore the interest is about the same. It is also totally flexible so we can overpay and reduce the term/repayments/cost. Again thanks for your help, and all is sorted. Now just got to find the car!!

    Thanks for the update Jack.

I'm happy to hear that you now have the funds to go and buy your car... ok, so it isn't the rate you were hoping for - but at least it is flexible so you can pay it back at a rate that is comfortable for you.
