erm yes, i got the tv at same time as order back in july? got a letter this week from the store to say we appologise for the delay in recieving your gift and accept this £5 gift voucher?

Received two tv's instead of one, numerous discount vouchers to apologise for the delay (there was no delay) then received a letter from tv licence people stating that Id purchased a telly recently and that I dont have a licence! >:( (I do have one, in partners name).Starting to wonder whether its the tv licensing that are giving these away to catalogues to use as free gifts to try and catch people without a licence!! sneaky:o

TV retailers are legally obliged to pass on details of buyers to the licensing authority. The authority then checks the name of the buyer against their database. As your liscense is in your partners name they wouldn't have picked it up. Just ring them and they'll take you off their mailing list. They can't go by address because of landlords & tenants & students etc.

I did phone them to let them know at the time, only for my partner to receive a letter last week, in a different address, telling him that court action were to be taken against him for not having a licence!! :-/, so another phone call >:(. Ive just checked my account with The Store, and another tv is supposed to be on its way!help! This is what I get for giving the others away to local charities!
