Free eye test @ D&A and 30% off glasses

Sorry if this has already been posted but just had an e-mail from plum prizes offering a free eye test and 30% off voucher if you buy your glasses from them.

http://www.danda.co.uk/tmn0803-ceg-fet-30peog/

They are seperate vouchers and it does state in the T&Cs that "This reduction is not dependent on the purchase of a complete pair of glasses" so get the free eye test and get cheaper glasses from somewhere else if you want!

It does also say that it's only for plum prizes e-mail recipients but I've checked on the D&A website and the offer is on there anyway. Just fill in your name, e-mail and DOB and they should e-mail you the voucher.

Hope it's helpful to someone.

I get free eye tests anyway because if you spend most of your working day in front of a computer your employer is required to fund an eye test and give you a contribution towards any glasses you may need but will get a voucher for the free eye test for my Mum. Thanks OP.

My voucher stipulates it is only for students and you need a NUS card??
Did anyone else get this on theirs?

    no mine doesnt say students.

But the banner at the top of the page is scrolling thru "free eye test" and "students click here"

So maybe you just timed your click slightly wrong??

PS..thanks OP I was about to pay £20 for a test..

Suggestion/Warning: take the free eye test prescription to another (cheaper) opticians or online glasses service. When we took up this offer a while ago, D&A talked us into a buy and ended up 1. overcharging 2. breaking a pair of designer glasses 3. fitting the wrong prescription.

Because D&A is a franchise, if anything goes wrong in a branch you're always referred to 'head office' for refunds/compensation (it's not dealt with in-store), which makes it a LOT harder to claim anything if you're given the wrong prescription (which had happened to many people on this board when using this offer).

I notice it says in the t&cs:
This voucher cannot be used with an NHS eye test

I automatically qualify for a free NHS test because of my complex prescription, as I found out when recently going for the Optical Express free eye test. I want to go again to get a second opinion*, and am not sure if the NHS will be happy for me to have another since it's only a few weeks since the last one. Does anyone know if all this will have an effect on whether I can get a free eye test from D&A?

    Thanks!

*Mainly because the optician didn't believe me when I said I have trouble focusing with my right eye- just shook his head and said "no"! So I'm not confident that the prescription he gave me would sort the problem out...
