Hello guys
after talking about Serps, whether to opt back in or out. it's been suggested i might look around for a better pension and to put both my funds into this.
is there currently a list of top providers in this area on here, as i can't seem to find anything. I looked at cavendish online. they dont do anything for either of the two companies plans i am in.
I am 36 been putting into a pension since i was 18, first one is with Allied Dunbar(zurich) and second was a years worth of payments in company pension but they has been shut down and transferred to Prudential.
I phoned Zurich and they gave me a plan value and transfer value, there was a 4k difference.
The plan i am in with Zurich is just a personal pension plan, when it started i got to choice what areas to invest. ie property, far east, shares etc.
cheers in advance

It doesnt work that way. Different providers have different pros and cons and it depends on what you want from the investment.is there currently a list of top providers in this area on hereI looked at cavendish online. they dont do anything for either of the two companies plans i am in.
You said you want a better one than they two you have. So, why do you want to put it back with the two you have?
Is the Prudential scheme a personal pension or a section 32 buy out bond? If the latter, does it have any GMP or Guaranteed annuity rates attached to it?
have you costed the zurich plan against modern alternatives to see if the charges will be lower over the remaining term leaving it where it is or moving it?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). when i was looking at pension stuff on here. i was just looking at pension transfer and thats all that came up so i looked. i didnt know that was just a way of getting fees back etc at the time.
As I said I dont know what the modern alternatives are thats why i was asking what was out there what do people recommend. i never thought when i started my pension that one day i would think about moving it around, i just assumed when i was 18 once you started it that was it for life.
all i would think most people want from their pension is as much return as possible.
i will look for my prudential stuff.
cheers for your reply0 -
Have been in touch with the Pru and they will be sending me a up to date transfer value.,
I found out now that the Pru is in full control of the fund as my ex bank closed the scheme down,
its now in a AVC deferred Benefits with profits.
There is no fees or charges on the account
there is around 3.5k in this and a terminal bonus of around 1.5k this was on last statement. is it worth leaving alone if no fees and charges ?
cheers in advance0
