Nile, I think it was you who said this stuff in my original post and I duly took heed, bought some heavy duty gloves etc and made sure all bare skin was covered - rest assured I wasn't throwing the stuff about with careless abandon, I even had a mask for the fumes :)

Hello...don't suppose you know what it's called?

    Thanks :)
  • I'm sorry i've only just come back to this thread but i will ask my dad tomorrow as i know he's used it at times such as when hes been paining and doing other jobs. One other think thats just come to mind is a product called Astonish. It used to be exclusive to Woolworths years ago and QVC then started selling it but you need the pot of the cream base with a scourerer, that would probably shift it without using any harmful chemicals as its totally environmentally friendly. Got me out of a few scrapes in the past, can't think why i didn't think of it before

Just to bring this thread to a conclusion, I thought I would mention I bought a product called Bar Keeper's Friend in John Lewis yesterday that is fantastic. It has got rid of most of the marks and I think they will eventually disappear completely. I think it will bring most sinks up like new! Mine is looking very shiny and happy.
