I have to say I always just make up sandwiches and fruit and things. I take a flask of coffee for grown ups and squash for the children. I have plenty of rubbish bags too!

I make up a fruit box: apples, grapes, tangerines.
And a salad box, roughly torn crunchy lettuce ,such as cos, whole baby toms, strips of pepper.

These can be eaten with your lunch (just use fingers!) or nibbled as you go. Much healthier than high fat and sugar snack foods. I also find much better when travelling - car and seasickness can be exacerbated, even caused, by greasy or sugary food.

If you want something sweet to eat, try a nutty fuit cake which you can cut into slices ready, then wrap up the whole thing in foil. This will have a mix of sustaining protein and. a sugar kick.

Also lots of bottles of water.
