MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to the Celebrations board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!.

  • I would also mention its work getting the theory out of the way now! There is no need to wait as it can just waste money (some instructors wait until your ready to pass the practical then tell you to book the theory. Few months waiting list, pass this then another few months waiting list for the practical = about 5 months extra driving lessons you didnt need). Tell her to get it out the way!
I would not be in too much of a hurry to take the theory test as it only lasts two years and can put a lot of pressure on to pass if it takes longer for any reason to be ready for the practical test. There is at least two month wait here for a test so it could take over 6 months to sit two tests.

As a current learner driver (ok, I was a little late at 24, but hey ho) I would really recommend that DVD/CD ROM, it really helped me pass my theory. The hazard perception is a !!!! if you haven't practised exactly what they're looking for, plus it has lots of extras like talking you through the 'show me, tell me' part of the practical.

Learning to drive really adds up too - it's costing me £18 per 50 min lesson, £28.50 for my theory, £50 odd for my practical (29th April, gulp!), and another £48 for my instructor that day...so any help you can give her finanically would be appriciated, I'm sure.
