remorgage or not to remorgage with northern rock

we have been with northern rock for nearly 5 years now and our morgage has gone up so much its silly to pay for the house we are in. do we remorgage with someone else or stay with northern rock, sell up and rent we have no idea what to do, the only thing we do know is that paying nearly £800.00 a month on a 3 bedrrom town house is silly. can any1 suggest what we could do, we have no clue about how to go about remorgaging, this is the first house i have bought. could some1 suggest what we do

    Hi Carol

    Welcome to the board

DO you know if you are still tied in to NR? Did you take out a fixed rate that has now expired, and you have been put on to a standard variable rate?

If you are not tied in, your best bet is to look for a new lender, as due to their problems, NR do not have any competitive deals at present.

What is the property value? What is the mortgage amount?
