WANTED: Quit Smoking Incentives

Hello, my friend quit smoking on Tuesday and i'd like to give her a bit of support. I was wondering if anyone knew of any companies offering freebies related to quitting smoking. These could be products such as free samples of nicotene gum or even just fun stuff like calendars where you can mark off the days or little stickers with encouraging messages of support on them eg: "One Week Smoke Free!" etc.
I'm after anything really. I realise there are a few large 'quitting smoking' threads on this forum but i couldn't find any links to products on them, plus i would like these things to be free if possible.
Thanks in advance guys

    Hi,

I packed in a few years back. I found the forums Niquitin usefull. They have an online calender that gives you facts for each day e.g how much you have saved etc.

    Link: http://www.click2quit.co.uk/

Good luck. There is a rainbow at the otherside.

i'm on day 17 without a smoke and doing well. i'm using champix tablets from my g.p. and find these really good compared to patches gum etc,......i've tried and failed with them all.
get a big callander put it up somewhere you'll see it often, and start putting a big x on each day you don't smoke.
put your cigarette money in a big jar labelled 'cash nor ash' and watch it fill up with money. so far i've got £115 which is a pkt a day plus an extra pkt for when i work nights.
DONT SPEND THIS MONEY ON ANYTHING OTHER THAN A TREAT YOU COULDN'T AFFORD, OR GRUDGED YOURSELF. even if the hoover blows up and your on your knees with a dustpan and brush.:D
tell everyone you've quit, and ask for support, it helps if you start to cave in.
good luck with quitting, if others can do it we can too.
  • I've been quit 9 months now and my most invaluable support was from the non smoking thread in the debt free wannabe forum http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=445572 page 1 has some great links, my personal favourite is the silk quit metre - ticks away on your computer telling you how much you've saved (£1,171.15 for me!!). Plus lots of support from people in the same boat!

PS: I gave up cold turkey - tried support patches, hypnosis etc in the past didn't work for me but it does for some.
    I stopped smoking 25th June 2007
    STILL Never complacent but confident
    My debt is GOING DOWN!!!!

Well, the header asked for incentives. And it's incentive enough me not to go back to smoking.

As for scare tactics... dunno about that, it's just a fact that smoking leads to early death.

Better not say more or it'll be taken as I'm preaching
