Save a live webcam wedding?
Ticklemouse
My sister is getting married in Las Vegas tonight (midnight our time). She's got a live webcam link in the chapel. Is there any way I can save this on my PC/to a dvd to show my Dad, who was too ill to go? I have a broadband, a new PC, Windows XP media and a dvd rewriter, (tho' I've never used the latter), if this helps.
If there is a way, please explain in words of no more than 1 syllable cos me and PC's are not intimately acquainted.

Just in time eh?
Net transport allows you to download live streams. (obviously the like of real and such don't like this sort of program, that's why they are hard to find)
Download it here: http://souxin.gzrail.net/software/NVTESetup152.EXE
You hit 'New' and give it the URI of the stream (cut and paste from the properties box in another player).
Try it out before the 11th hour!!!
Good luck!

Ok, thanks for that. Think I've got it recording - trouble is, I can't find how to play it back. Any ideas anyone? If I can't check, I'll just have to give it a whirl and try to find it another day.
PS It's raining in Vegas, apparently. To think, they could have saved their money and Mr TM could have dressed up as Elvis (or whoever they are having as their minister). They'd never have known the difference - would have put me Xmas lights up early ;D0 -
Depends what sort of file it is. Stop the recording and open the file in media player for a start.
If it's 'real' the download the free real one from the beeb here : http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/audiohelp_install.shtml
OR use VLC (it'll play anything!) http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html
(Just open it and drop the file in)

Thanks for your help. However, it seems to stop recording after 17 seconds and no matter what I do, that's the limit. Looks like my dad will have to wait for them to come back with the dvd in a couple of weeks.0

Just to let you know, couldn't get it to work, so my dad will have to wait. However, wedding went well - Elvis minister, stetsons and Harley Davisons!!

They had fun - it was what my BIL really wanted.

Yep - that was the one - groom in Black (his Doc Holliday look or something?) 2 kids in white stetsons too - loads of smoke that got in the way of the webcam.
I'll just have to check the photos in a couple of days - u huh (bad Elvis impression) ;D 0 -
BTW Sheel, how many webcams did you check out to find it? I know they went for one of the 'famous' chapels, but I don't know how many others there are.0
