Free Scratch & Match Cards in April Sky Mag

Along with April's Sky Magazine, I received 4 'scratch & match' cards, where youhave to either get 2 matching numbers (for which you win a prize out of a large variety of prizes) or a pound sign (for which there is supposedly a guaranteed 5 pound prize and possibly a bigger cash prize).
One of my cards had two matching #s, and another had the pound sign.
Now, to claim the award, you can either mail them an envelope with 30p for return postage, or text/call a number which costs more.
I'm not sure if this is a great freebie or some kind of scam, so I wanted to put it out there and see what anyone says.
Apologies if it's in the wrong thread, as I am a newbie!

Hello and welcome the forum
The freebie section is for freebies, where no spend is required.Even if there is a small amount that needs to be paid- its not technically a freebie.
Although this is in the wrong section, its not the end of the world, if you contact a moderator, they will gladly move it to the correct forum.
IMO though, these scratch cards that a free arent worth anything and it usually costs more to get the prize.0 -
I sent off for one of these things before just for a laugh. It said I had won a diamond. They sent back a plastic back with what can only be described as a speck of dust. Still I suppose it was only the price of a stamp.0

to claim your prize you need to ring or text a number to get a claim number. This costs £9 (for EACH prize you claim) and THEN send it with an envelope with 30p postage.
There are 20 thousand Haven holidays for 2 nights , so if you match 2 numbers , then chances are thats the prize you win. Could be a bargain for £9 .
Also , the £5 guaranteed prize , will cost you £9.30 to claim , so not worth doing!James thinks worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do, but it doesn't get you anywhere
If i help you...Please thank me! :beer:0 -
Hi all,
We went on a weekend break to england last weekend. My bf bought a magazine, including the same scrach & win cards. I wanted to chuck them out, but scrached them just for fun. I had the same outcome as the one that created this thread.
Now i don't know what to do. Im from Holland, so claiming the supposed prize would cost me even more! I am also sceptic about these cards, but it would be even more stupid to not reply if i have won something. So please, a little advise, or maybe the creater of this tread could tell me if he has claimed his prize already?
Would be a great deal of help, thanks in advance!0 -
hey
sorry, couldn't say, as i haven't claimed them and don't think I will risk it...0
