Another one whose payments are missing

I am in the same situation as wobblebottom. Basically the payments have been coming, abit all over. Last payment i received was 24th January 2008. It is done through a deductions of earnings (ex works for NHS).
So fast forward to February, no signs of any payment for that month, so I begin phoning virutally every day. Each person I speak to tells me something different, 3 times I have used the online complaints form, but that didnt get me anywhere other than an email telling me they have tried to ring me 3 times and I wasn't in.
So yesterday I spoke to somebody who said that they payment came in to Newcastle on 13th March, but didnt have a list of whom should be paid what, as it is the NHS there is bulk payment for a fair few people.
I asked about March's payment and they said the employer said that they haven't even sorted that out yet!
I have today put in writing a complaint as I am sick of being fobbed off, I need that money and have had to borrow this month from friends just for basic living, I am trying to juggle my wages with child benefit to pay off bills etc and food.
Do I have a case to try and get some compensation off the CSA? They have had the money for nearly 2 weeks, earning them a nice bit of interst and I am running round to my back asking for an overdraft (they refused) just to make ends meet.
I feel sick every day when I check my bank account in the hope I have some money.
any advice please would be greatly appreciated as at the moment I seem to be getting nowhere.

My ex also works for nhs is on a d.o.e. since Aug 06,I am still waiting for 6 payments. My case with Bolton and I have tried everything,mp,ice, complaint letters, cro, emails and still nothing.,my payments are adhoc, irregular or unpaid since Aug 06.I had a reassessment in Dec 07 after 11 months,it has been backdated to Aug 06 as an increase of £22 PW.Bolton are denying any reassessment details, something of note though, literally as I have been posting this, the Parliamentary Ombudsman who I have written to in Jan08,have just rung stating ICE have promised to look at my case in next 16 weeks, that will be 11 months after receiving complaint, but had a good moan, chat and stated my unhappiness with that response as ice have not kept to any timescales they have promised so far. However the P.O advisor did say to her knowledge she has never had a case with a nhs employee not paying csa go through them. She said nhs always pay csa, maintenance.I don,t know whether that helps but it does reiterate to me what I had been told by ex,s employees, they are adamnant they are paying csa, have given me all dates of payment but I still have not received them.Well let,s see what the next 16 weeks hold,I won,t build my hopes up as I have been there so many times with promises unfulfilled.and I think 11 months for just looking at your case with ICE is a long time for an unpaid doe.I don,t knowhow much leverage the doe has in reality but I am literally "shoving it down their necks "at moment.Good luck with csa and post what your situation is with ex,s nhs employee not paying ,according to csa if that,s o.k with you.:D0

I am so annoyed, just typed a long reply and it logged me out...arrghh
anyway I'm Sad, I am not well up on terminology so you will have to help me out, what is ICE?
I was looking back at the dates of my payments last night they were ok(ish) most of last year, but Decembers payment came in January, then Januarys was ok, but nothing since, there was a couple of months where they had arrived the month after, and then within a couple of weeks the next payment had turned up. It seems like whoever sends them out from the NHS doesnt seem to do it in a pattern, more ad hoc, probably when they can be arsed.
I'm Sad, have you actually spoken to your ex's employer? I am confused about the NHS, is the payroll based at the hospital where the person works or is it centrall within whatever trust? (I would love to have a word with my ex's employer....).
So are you saying that the money is being sent from the NHS to the CSA but you aren't getting it? where does the CSA say it is?
What I find frustrating is that every month the NHS must be taking this money from the wages of the people paying under D.O.E, but then somewhere in between the money is sitting in the bank accounts of the NHS or the CSA and not getting to the people it should be, and it is the kids who suffer.0 -
I rang nhs as bolton were denying all payments via doe.I,m not categorically saying csa are at fault, but nhs are saying they have paid.I don,t believe nhs are faultless but csa have an employees address,N.I. Number, tax code, name, salary details, etc.Anybody involved with csa is there for a reason, mainly communications have broken down and for me yes I want help with expense of childcare, housing, clothes,I work full time and I have bills to pay.ICE stands for independant case examiner, part of the appeals process with csa. There are some great sticky links and use the csa website.
Don,t overly delay problems with csa as as much as I have an ex working for nhs on a good salary,I may be stupid but I do believe he is paying the doe,not through compassion for his son or we would,nt be doing csa but through force.ICE have written to me today ,they anticipate all problems with csa resolved by july.Well we will see,I don,t hold my breath and on paper it looks simple, but ice involved Aug 07 so it,s not a quick route but Ice are adamnant that doe,s via nhs are never unpaid.Well they have been,so we will see.0 -
Just to let you know i had exactly the same thing. They said they would change me to manual payments (i'd had no money for 2 months) but that the process would take 6 weeks.
I agreed as i thought it would eventually mean i would have regular payments...what a mistake. Weeks and weeks of ringing and speaking to different people all with different points of view, yes the money had come in, no the money hadn't come in, would be in on this date, would be in on that date....
Eventually i contacted my ex (we hadn't been in touch for nearly 7 years) and we now do it via bank. Took great pleasure in telling the csa and they said he might default on payments and i told them i'd rather take my chances with him than them lol.
I also made the point about how much interest they had earnt on my money whilst it was in their account and was told they don't make interest on money in their account because its a business account :rotfl:Not bad considering they were taking £89 a week from him for 1 child. We came to an private agreement of £65 pw as i think thats more than adequate for just 1 child.
Csa are Idiots, the lot of them. If you can work it out with your ex do it that way.0 -
My case is with Bolton office. Since it went there in may I've had nothing but problems. i am the PWC and CSA receive the money via AOE order and have done for years! My case was reassessed in May as another PWC and child were involved - since then I have had two lots of maintainence, some months they paid it back to the secretary of state, some months they gave it ALL to the other PWC and last month they sent it back to the employer. When you phone them up they don't know what they are doing and just try to fob you off all the time. I got really fed up with this so I complained (fat lot of use that was) the person in the complaints dept was just as incompetent as the call centre staff. Eventually, I complained to my MP. Things are now starting to move, my case has temporarily moved to Falkirk (where they seem to know what they are talking about) However, due to the number of complaints they are dealing with it will take 6-8weeks for a final response. I await in anticipation to find out how they explain this one!!!
I sympathise with anyone who has their case in Bolton - isn't it about time that the problem with Bolton office is addressed as it keeps cropping up all the time. 0 -

Hi, don't know if this helps but the csa have to wait until the money comes in from the employer before we can send it out to the parent with care. the csa does not earn any interest and does not keep any money. Payments that come in go straight out to the parent with care. If the incorrect reference number is quoted incorrectly by the employer it goes on to the old system and gets stuck. that is then requested off by the caseworker and can take up to 21 days to release it. The request goes to a team who request it off, once that happens it gets released to the parent with care. the whole system is flawed and the system is slow and frustrating. the csa will never have enought staff to deal with the thousands of cases needing chasing for payments. Each caseworker can get 10-15 cases allocated to them for each area of the country. :rolleyes:Mortgage Free 2016Work Part Time:DHouse Hunting In France 20230
