there's always something to foil our plans

Why is it that no matter how hard you try there's always something that comes along and messes up all the plans?

I have been such a good DFW, putting away £50/month in a separate account to pay for 'car things'. I have done this to prevent the cash-flow problems of having to pay for tax, MOT etc all in one go.

All was going well, i had enough to buy 6 months tax a few months ago with no effect on my budget :j and was hoping there would be enough to pay for my insurance outright in April. But had to take it for a service - and the garage has just rung to say its going to be £250!!

I have £220 in my car account, so i can afford it with a small top-up from main account. But now i can't buy the insurance outright and will have to pay monthly again for a whole year. So annoying.

Hi - there are certain companies (More Than is one) that do not charge you for paying monthly - might be worth seeing if you can get a deal with one of those companies (thru quidco of course), so at least you are not paying extra ££££ in interest.

I know what you mean tho, when you have saved hard to cover things like this, to have a 'spanner put in the works' really is a bummer. Just think tho, if you hadn't have saved that money, you would now have to know find £250 to repair your car
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying! :rotfl:
