hi all,
i need to send a second set of token payments to my creditors as my DMP isn't quite in place yet, and don't know if i need to enclose a second letter or anything?
With my first set of payments i enclosed the letter cccs sent me (the one saying i am setting up a dmp with cccs etc).
Should i just send payment with just a note of my account details etc or should i send a more formal letter along the lines of... please accept this token payment for april, my dmp with cccs will be beginning on the 1st may, something, something, something!!
If its the case of sending a letter does anyone have a template??
also do i make another £5 token payment or shall i just give them £1?? i thought i should give them a £5 token payment but everyone including cccs said £1 is fine?! (if i only give them a £1 this time i have enough to clear one of my debts in full!)

The amount you send is tricky no guidelines as such. I would definately not send £5 if the payment they are going to be offered by CCCS is less than the £5 as they can say well you managed a token payment of £5.
I would be tempted to send another letter much along the lines of what you said and if you have a date when the DMP is likely to start put that in your letter - unless you can see anything cropping up that could delay it.0 -
Hi
As rayday says, don't send them £5.00 as they will fight you saying if you afforded it this time you can afford it everytime. As your dmp starts in may, just send them a letter with £1.00 token payment as if you send no token they will just hassle and threaten you all the more.
Hope things settle down for you once on the dmp, I was with the cccs but was on such a low income i couldn't even go on a dmp i just had to pay £1.00 a month to all my debtors.....

Hi Thepinkladez
Keeping your creditors informed every step of the way is the key.
If you put all your account information in the letter you write, your new DMP start date, your reference number, the reason for the month delay and inform them you will be making a £1 token payment to cover for the extra month the creditors should be ok.
They will be able to call us to confirm the start date and we can answer any of the questions as long as we have your signed letter of authority to allow us to deal with them.
If you are paying off one of your debts before the plan starts as well we will need to take this of your list of creditors so we would normally have to see a statement/receipt to show it’s clear to avoid overpayment.
Good luck
