Mattress advice

I was so looking forward to replacing our very uncomfortable mattress, but after reading many contradictions, I am now more confused than ever
We have a slated bedstead and need to know the most suitable mattress to use with slats. Memory foam sounds brilliant but I don't fancy any extra heat it may create.
We are interested in a couple of mattresses, both heavily reduced in price this week at Costco and would appreciate any advice/recommendations.
There is a Sealy Mirrorform/Memoryform which 'I think' is all foam (no springs) but wonder about the lifespan of such a mattress? However in it's favour are several layers to deal with airflow to disperse heat/moisture
Also a Rest Assured 2400 Pocket Latex, however I read that pocket springs are not suitable for slats and that such a large number of springs can mean smaller/weaker springs?
Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,
Try putting a search in the box, above right. There is one great chap here who works with beds/mattresses and gives wonderful advice and I'd certainly take his thoughts any day. I'll have a look for him too and get back to you if I see his name.

Thank you, thats kind of you
There are a couple of mattress threads at the mo, but I ddin't want to jump on them with further questions without posting here first0 -
Have had a few mattresses over the years and stopped at many top Hotels, and must say the most comfortable I have found is Sealy Posturepedic bought one myself a few years back and it is excellent IMHO.
But I suppose mattresses are a personal choice, I prefer a nice firm mattress, plus it keeps me nice and cool.Cheers

Hi again AfternoonTea,
I've managed to contact him, so hopefully, if he has some time on his hands he'll be able to come here to advise you, or to give you a link or two to help.
