Want to buy Fujifilm s9600 SLR type camera..

Can anyone help me with where to buy at a good price?

I've checked to obvious sites..amazon, currys, ps world etc and so far amazon have the best price at £219.

I'm wondering if anyone can help me to find it cheaper or a way of combining offers, codes, price match to find the best deal?

I'm bamboozled as its the biggest online purchase i'll have made and its taking me forever to decide.

    Have a look here £205?

I have shopped for PC stuff from ebuyer in the past. They aren't the most responsive eshop but get there in the end.

Thanks for the info both of you.. I'd not checked ebuyer but have heard of them so will have a look there.

I'd seen the one on the fuji site but you only get 6mths guarantee with it so I was a bit wary in case anything happened after this time. You can get a 2yr extension but costs up to £50.

Ooh ebuyer have it for £214.98 and amazon is £219..

I've not used ebuyer before. Do you get the same level of service, guarantee etc and do they accept discount codes as I know amazon dont?

    - Edit..just found a thread that says you dont get ebayer codes.

ebuyer are box shifters and provide little in the way of sympathetic customer care phone call handlers.

If it was down to the odd £5 I would probably go with Amazon.

Actually I'd probably buy the refurb S5800 than if it goes wrong after 6 months I could buy another one from Fuji.

You could have a DSLR Nikon D40 for £50 more. £259 from Jessops.
Not quite up to the Megapixels of the one you want but excellent images apparently and good for A4 printing. (will you ever do bigger?)

I've bought lots of "refurbished" items and most times they appear brand new, especially those direct from the manufacturers site, but, as you say, the warranty isn't so good.

This is what im worried about but to be honest im just looking on amazon now and was going to buy and cant see how much guarantee you get with it from them? I wonder if its just 1 year standard.

Ebuyer are fine nowadays. I've had to return stuff to them and they handled it without problems. They used t have a poor reputation but they've improved a lot.

    Thanks.

Its a while since I bought significantly from them.
I never had a problem with them but neighbour had a run around to get a faulty item replaced.

Having said that I have just placed an order for some memory from them.
    Next day delivery.

If customer service is v. important to you, I can recommend www.ukdigitalcameras.co.uk from personal experience. They offer a 2yr warranty on all cameras.
Bad news is, it looks like they don't stock the 9600:cry:
