Yup, mine's a modern electric 'Rangemaster', designed I think to look like an Aga, but not. It was in the house when we bought it. The oven is fine but the grill has broken after very little use and the rings take forever to heat up and then blast out heat long after they've been turned off-very inefficient-but hopefully the PC will cut the length of time that I need to have the rings on for, although much experimentation will be required I think...
I'm guessing it's ok to put the PC back on if I take a look and the food isn't cooked?
Also, how can I work out what 'pressure' I'm cooking at ? I've seen it mentioned in several recipes. Is it important?
Many thanks.

Just discovered it's a '4.25L Prestige Smartplus Curry Pan'. I think the pressures are 8 and 12.

Have you got the manual for your PC - it should tell you when to use the different pressures, as well as how to change from one to the other. If you haven't got the manual, I'd suggest emailing them to try to get another copy - customerservices@meyeruk.com

My nan's PC was a Prestige Hi-Dome and came with 5, 10, 15 pressure weights. For the majority of stuff we always used 15 - think some things need gentler pressure - but she didn't use it for anything like that.

One of mine is a newer model of Hi-Dome (4litre) but only has one weight for all cooking - the other is a Magefesa and that also only has one weight for everything.

Thanks to everyone who replied. I followed Baggy's instructions and it worked well. The red button didn't pop up (maybe it's broken?), but I figured the potato's were ready after about 10 minutes. They were a bit hard but mashed down fine. Should you start the cooking timing from when it pops up? I have a very slow electric hob so maybe that had something to do with it. Will experiment more later this week.
Just looked at button-doesn't appear to be broken.
The red button I was referring to is like a little button that is not normally obvious when the cooker is cold. Perhaps it is gooped up and needs a good poke about with a cocktail stick after a good soak.
Start timing when cooker has reached 'full fizz'

Just wanted to say that I emailed them, as suggested, and they sent me a copy of the manual within a couple of hours, which is brilliant customer service. Thanks for your help.
