We're looking to borrow an additional 10k for home inprovements.
Never having borrowed additional funds we hope someone can help us through the potential pitfalls as this seems to be the cheapest way to borrow this amount.
Here is our current situation-have a mortgage with C&G on a 2 year fixed term(about 1/2 way through) for £114k against a property worth £265k approx.I assume C&G is the best to approach as we have our mortgage with them?
I have a CC with 3k on it and will be clearing this with the funds and closing the account-no other debt and good credit history.
Joint income of around 32k
Bascially I'd like to know thinking ahead if we'll struggle to find a mortgage provider in a years time when we need to remortgage to the best deal at that time.
Also is it advisable to remortgage for the whole amount or can we leave the additional borrowing with C&G if this is the best route?
Thanks for any advice as usual.
