    I give up now, people return to work without doctors say so - it is not illegal!

    Getting rid of staff with long periods of sick leave happens, I didnt say procedures didnt have to be followed.

    Because something happens in reality I am saying it happens, I dont need to agree with it.

    As a point of interest what training did you receive, was it in house or through the STUC colleges?

    The TUC stage 1 and 2 are imho an absolute minimum, with progression to the employment law course being desirable.

  • It was direct through USDAW.

    I had requested on a number of occasions for additional legal training but it always came down to availability and budgets

    To be honest, if you werent living in the 4 main cities in Scotland then they didnt really bother much as these regions seemed to be 2nd class. If the full time reps had to travel far they couldnt be bothered. It is even worse for night shift reps.
