Best A3 colour printer < £200 please?

Hiya moneysavers.
Kids have been winging away for an A3 colour printer and they do art, graphics, media and all that at school.
What's the best buy when you consider ink and all that please?
Thanks!

Don't think there are any cheap A3 printers.

A3 isn't really needed for school work. It costs lots of cash to do.

Do they have the resolution from their photographs/work to print at A3? Most of the time I do 6x4 and A4 for A level. Don't need any larger. OH would never request work from students at A3.

The school could provide A3 printing if its required. You just need to do the work at home and then print final on A3. You won't get any better marks because its big.

Get them to ask the teachers if they'll get better marks because their work is bigger than the other pupils?

£200 buys each child an A4 multi function printer. And probably a year's supply of paper and ink too.

Anyway we all know size isn't important.

I think you're a little stuck on budget - the cheapest A3 printers only start around £200, unless you want to pick something up on ebay/second hand.

You'll also find very quickly that no A3 printers are cheap to run when you start printing out A3 photos - paper is typically around £1.00 upwards for photo quality paper, and it takes a lot of ink to cover a page!
If you decide to go A3, also consider getting a Continuous ink system - it will save a fortune in ink, although they can be a bit fiddly to get set up and working. I run two canon A4 printers and an Epson 1290 (A3) all in CISS.
