Does anyone know where to find the dates where what is on offer when ? I am going into town today and may revise my lunchime arrangements from my planned chargrilled vegetable organic health-seeded roll to a big mac <<grin>>.
I am not fussy what I have, I just don't want to make the horrible mistake of buying something that is full price.
Incidentally, all of this ranting reminds me of sitting in the cinema with my mother and my aunt when there was a boycott of cape grapes. My sister and I (mid-teens and very PC) wholeheartedly supported the boycott and were nodding vigorously when a pre-film advert came on promoting the boycott, only to hear my mother (in the silence that follows the ads) say loudly (read "broadcast with a foghorn") "Well I am not going to stop buying them, they are the juiciest ones". That was probably the last time I ever tried to be too PC about my food.0 -

Rev wrote:Yeah I know the difference, Lacto-ovo veggies eat dairy products including eggs, lacto veggies eat dairy products but not eggs, neither eat meat. Including fish. Obviously vegans don't eat any animal products whatsoever.
Partial (or semi) vegetarians may eat fish, chicken and dairy but not red meat.
I realise this now makes me sound like an ranting veggie but I'm not honest.
I just always thought of fish as meat.
Just wanted to clarify there in case someone thought I was trying to start an argument.

With regards to partial (or semi) vegetarians, it reminds me of a statement Jack Dee made with regards to to his neighbour being a vegetarian - but eats fish and chicken!!:

Hubs bought bogof macs last friday, cost £1.88.
Went to different outlet on Monday, adn was charged £1.99.
He queried this, but was told in no uncertain terms that that was th price everywhere.
Like it or lump it basically.
Odd huh?I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -
Which is a lie, as the usual price is £1.88He queried this, but was told in no uncertain terms that that was th price everywhere.
Presumably they rely on the fact that nobody will take the matter any further, as it's only 11pThanks to all who post constructively.

My understanding is that there are various 'price bands' for McD (and for BK, which I am far more familiar with). Some stores are in a higher price band and charge more for the same products - basically I think that it's if the store is located somewhere where they can get away with it!
BUT I have found (with BK anyway) that the stores that charge more do actually sell a slightly better product! - their turnover is presumably higher, and you get a fresher burger - and often more salad stuff - much more tasty. :beer:Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0
