I'm looking to buy jogging shorts

My OH is after some jogging shorts for the annual "I'll do it next week" get fit period of the year.
He's after a pair of the cotton stretchy material ones but all I can find are the very thin pairs.
I can find long jogging pants in the thicker material and if it comes to it I'll cut down a pair of those.
has anyone seen any in the shops recently.
The last pais were from matalan but they don't seem to have any this year.
