Or one of these for $780: http://www.videodirect.com/technics/turntables/technics-sl-dz1200.html
I think I prefer your setup:rotfl:"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I watch TV on the big 32" LCD in my lounge most nights.. my PC monitor is 19" and a poor comparison
However, i've recently bought a DVD player with a slot for memory cards.. now i can get TV shows in divX format (off 'tinternet or mates) and watch them on my big telly0 -
Superscraper, it is just impossible to know what sample rate a human ear can detect. Also digital recording filters what it thinks is noise eg they used to filter sounds from mics that weren't a direct source so if the vocals picked up the bass then out it goes unfortunately so does ambience and a natural sound.
Digital also is too tempting for most producers to continue to overdub and mix again and again, creating an unnatural sound.
Anyone wanting a hi-fi should go to a proper shop and arrange to hear some equipment..vinyl ..CD, MP3, it's all personal taste in the end...trust your ears nothing else, and it does not need to cost the Earth0 -

when cd's were first introduced before the war , they were hailed as being virtually indestructible , we now know that it only takes a spec of dust to make them skip or a small scratch and they're no good . the cases are naff and break , the info on the sleeve note require a magnifying glass to read .
i think after all , you can't beat vinyl , .:beer:0 -
