Expenses breakdown - couple

Hi Folks,
You all give such good answers that I find myself asking more questions!
We have to fill in two lots of forms. Am I supposed to break down our expenses into some for wife some for me? For example, our rent is £481. Do i put that I contribute £x and she contributes £x?
Or do I just put the same amount (£481) on both forms and let the OR decide. At the end of the day, both our money goes into one bank account.
Thanks
BR

In the beginning, there was nothing.
The Lord said "Let there be light".
There was still nothing, but you could see it.

Hi BR...If you dont ask you'll never know the answers. these forums have told and taught me loads this week which is fantastic.
Remind me - is it both of you going BR or just you?
if its only you then you would need to split income and expenditure into two, although you may need to prove (not sure) that OH pays half etc.
If you put the same full amounts on both it may be considered wrongly as it would look as you pay double out that you actually do.

Hi BR,
I take it you're both going BR?
When H and I 'did the deed', we filled out the SOA exactly the same on each one, as in:
Rent - full amount
Council tax - full amount
Gas - full amount
etc etc etc....
Then, on my form I listed my incomings and his incomings on the "other income in the household" bit and he did the opposite on his forms.
Hope that makes sense!
For us, this was the easiest and most straighforward way of doing it and the OR clearly didn't have any issues with this because he never mentioned it
You can't control everything in life....... your hair was put on your head to remind you of that
