    If you have a seam ripper (small tool used for sewing) they are brilliant for getting bits out of velcro reasonably quickly. They don't cost much.

    What a good idea! I do have one of these, will definitely try. Very carefully. It wouldn't do to end up with holes in the sofa! :p

    Yep, suede brush works for me, or if you don@t have one, try a bristle hair brush, just as good and very quick.
