Hi
We are going to a wedding of one of my boyfriends friends next month, and a few of us thought we could all go in together and get something extra special, so we have a fairly large budget. Thing is we dont know what to get!! Us girlys dont know the couple very well (all the lads were friends at uni) and the boys are useless at coming up with ideas - can anyone come up with any good suggestion? Did you get anything special for your wedding?!
Current suggestions are a luxury break away and some wine/whisky that they could keep for years to come.
Any thoughts appreciated!
Thanks!!

Have you asked if they have a list? Or would like vouchers for anything/anywhere in particular? I know of a couple who had everything, but asked for John Lewis or B&Q vouches, for decorating/extras for their home....0

No - they have not asked for anything to be bought for them. Sorry to sound rude but I wouldnt be asking on here if there was something we knew they wanted! We want to get something special to keep and not vouchers for a shop.0

if they are going on holiday after the wedding - why not change it into the currency of where ever they r going? They r likely to be a bit broke after the wedding? Or if they r moving into their first "real" home why not buy some essentials that everyone kind of needs but never thinks of? A drill for diy jobs? Lawnmower & strimmer? not very fun ideas i know, but practical
its hard though when you dont know people well 0 -
depending on where they are going for honeymoon you could pay for them to do say a scuba diving day or swim with the dolphins or a safari day etc a memory they will treasure forevernow proud mum to 3 handsome boys :j latest one born 10/10/11:j0

Mirror - that's a class idea. Kellyp - sorry to hi-jack your thread, but I would like to ask, what is the normal amount of spend for a wedding gift, either an item or vouchers? The couple in question are not very close friends.0
