free wine and chocs

in Freebies (no spend required)
Was in M&S today and when i was at the checkout, they asked if i wanted one of their MORE cards. I said no but then they said that they had a special offer on of a free goodie bag if you just signed up for one and didn't ever have to use it. The goodie bag contains a bottle of wine (red or white, you choose) a box of their swiss choc assortment 250g and a bag. Have no intention of ever using it but will enjoy the wine and chocs tonight!

    just had a peep online and a more card is a credit card , dosnt say anything about the chocs or wine but :)

    Maybe it's an M&S promotion available instore only as opposed to a More
    credit card one

    The &More card is good if you use it in M&S as it gives you points and then discounts for M&S goods - but given that M&S is so expensive (the food, at least) - even if very good quality - it might not be very economical to do.

    Also, you could go for the &More card, get the freebie pack and then cancel the card within the time allowed to change your mind.

    my mum went into a different marks to the one i went into and asked to open an account, signed up and got free wine, not chocs as well so not sure if they only offer the whole package if you look unsure about wanting a card but it looks like there is a promotion in every store.

    Just a quick reminder that for credit cards applications you will be credit checked and it will show up on your credit rating. So whilst a free bottle of wine and chocs are nice, just be careful you don't damage your credit rating and you chance of getting a mortgage/loan that you actually need for the sake of a tenner's worth of stuff. - People usually say you should leave a couple of months in between applying for any form of credit, so if you've suddenly signed up for 3 credit cards, might look bit iffy.

    On the other hand, if you want a credit card and free money, Goldfish give £41 cashback for an 'accepted and activated' card through Quidco, (so you'd have to spend a £1 or whatever on it, then pay it off and never use it again).
