Northern rock mortgage discharged bankrupt

Hi, we have a NR mortgage interest only for £148,000 due to end a fixed rate of 4.79% on 1 Aug 2008. Boyfriend was made bankrupt in 2005 and discharged in 2006. As I assumed we would have problems remortgaging with a high street lender, started looking early and HBOS have agreed to lend on a 5 yr fixed at 5.69%.
Just wanted to say that being with NR and discharged bankrupt does not necessarily mean you have to go with a specialist lender which I thought we would have to do. Each case is obviously different and not everyone will be as lucky but we have a clear credit history (apart from bankruptcy), i.e. never missed any sort of monthly payment and a high LTV rate (house worth approx. £250k). They have also only taken my partners income into consideration as I have a baby so they can only include my WFTC.
Just wanted to provide a possible shimmer of light to someone in the same situation.
I have just joined as a member so apologies if I have posted incorrectly
