Takes 1 x AAA bettery too which has got to be better than units which have an internal battery, after all how to you recharge when you are on plane, up a mountain etc. I'm no expert but it just seems to make sense to me.
But I can't see a radio tuner on this one peteraj. Or have I missed it in the description?

This might appeal to Moneysavingexperts: Re-use your old SD or MMC memory cards. I picked up this MP3 player today at Maplin for £19.99, no onboard memory, you put your own in. This was marked as special offer, £10 off.

Build is not bad and sound adequate - I plan to download MP3 programmes form the BBC.
Max 1GB memory it says, and only USB 1.1.
It doubles as a card reader/formatter. If you like to keep MP3s in an archive of removable cards, even more ideal.0
