Energy saving lightbulbs - Sainsburys

Right now at Sainsburys, the Osram energy saving lightbulbs (in 40wt and 60wt size) are 4 for £1. They are normally £2.09 each! Offer ends close of business on Tuesday, 25 March 2008. It isn't a store clearance or anything, so I believe that it should be in all Sainsburys stores. :j

That's the spirit, OP posts a helpful bargain for those who may be interested, you knock the whole concept of the product
For those who may not be near a Sainsbury I noticed Morrison had energy savers at 39p today, note to tuki tukki, they are probably also dim, so you should not buy them

I got 3 x 60 watt equivalents at Sainsbury's the other day for 99p. I know it seems as though the light is minimal, but I notice after about 5 mins, they build up to their full brightness. Ive always noticed that they start dull, but its no problem, and helps save the planet!!This above all: to thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man. Everyone's entitled to an opinion. A bargain's not a bargain if it doesn't fulfill your need and tuki tukki was highlighting the down side. As far as your note to tukki tukki is concerned; you know what they say sarcasm is.Age & Treachery Will Always Overcome Youth & Enthusiasm !!

Whilst I don't dispute the science that energy saving lightbulbs do all that advocates say they do, my own unscientific anecdotal evidence says they are not as good purely from an illuminatory point of view. You're link says that people could not tell the difference but I suggest that you only have to turn on an energy saving lightbulb and witness the delay of illumination and you can tell the difference immediately. I would not discourage people from using energy saving lightbulbs, I have many in my house, but please don't insult peoples intelligence by advocating that they are a better source of light.Age & Treachery Will Always Overcome Youth & Enthusiasm !!

Get used to them - they'll be the only type of household light bulb you'll be legally able to buy in 3 years time."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100

The thread title is as clear as possible regarding the promotion.
Why would someone even enter the thread if the item being highlighted is of no interest to them?
I guess the majority of threads on MSE refer to items I am not interested in. Should I enter each one and criticise the offers as they do not fulfil my needs? What a poor place MSE would quickly become if everyone who wasn't interested in the items being advised of started acting like this."Now to trolling as a concept. .... I was in Sainsburys last night - and they are still doing these light bulbs at 4 or £1 - so look out for them (Telford had them).
Usually £2.09 each as op said. They were in the 8w (40w equivalent) or 11w (60w equivalent).I'm a nutter :j0
