Hi,

  • Who the credit is provided by? another words who does the credit check?
  • Which CRA they search?
Thanks

    It's not so straight-forward.

Looks like they may use several credit providers, judging by their Data Protection & Privacy Policy:

    http://www.dfsonline.co.uk/data-protection.php (scroll down to "Data").

As you will see, it's entirely possible for multiple searches to be recorded.

Oh that's bad. Has anyone brought stuff on credit from DFS?

I will try phoning them tomorrow. Thanks

I asked this exact question a while ago while in DFS, GE Capital bank is their main one I believe although he said it changes quite often. They normally always find a company who is willing to take it on.

We bought 2 sofas from DFS and the application was accepted straight away. The provider is Blackhorse.

However when I was in my local store I heard a telephone conversation whereby the sales person was advising the customer their application had been declined but HSBC would accept them.

In my case I am certain they only did one credit search because the application form was from Blackhorse and because we were accepted immediately they did not need to go to another credit provider.
