T-Mobile

I have a contract with T-mobile but I want to upgrade the service. Does anyone know if they do a credit check for this?

    hi there

i used to work for t-mobile and did upgrades all the time , upgrading handsets, changing price plans etc etc, and never credit checked anyone once, i think they may and thats a big may credit check if you have had really bad payment history.

    hope this helps

Thanks DS. I was disconnected 5 months ago but have paid on time by direct debit since then. They say I can have a new handset next month. I want to go from UFix to Flext, do you think they might credit check me for that?

At worst they will put a limit on how much over your flext allowance you can go each month.

Thanks Silvercar. I don't mind (in fact I prefer a limit in case my teenage daughter get hold of my phone!) having a limit.

I would be very very surprised if they did, to put your mind at rest, if they say you can have a new handset from next month its because on your acc it will say when you are able to have a new handset, some people dont even know that they are eligible to have one, the account updates itself as to when you can have one, and when the customer calls in to say that you believe you are able to have a new handset, the customer service advisor basically orders it and thats it, changing price plan does not require a check either,, i had a very intensive 10 week training course when going to work there, and worked there for quite a while and i dont know of anyone credit checking, hope this helps

silver car is right, if they are worried about customers they usually limit your acc, if customers dont want limits on their acc, they are usually required to pay a lump sum of money into their acc by debit card so their account is in credit.
