I'm looking forward to having some chocolate as I gave it up for Lent and haven't had any since Pancake Day! I'm cooking roast chicken, roast potatoes, sprouts, swede & carrots, and stuffing followed by hot cross pudding (a la Jamie Oliver in his Sainsbury's ad). Happy Easter everyone!

Roast lamb, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, yorkshire puds, gravy
various vegetables (carrots and leeks are looking likely as are peas)
Possibly profiteroles for pud. Maybe fresh fruit.

I would have liked turkey but didn't see much evidence of them in the shops last week - lamb was being "pushed" everywhere I went!

Well done you, I've given up chocolate (for Lent) successfully in the past but as I get older my self discipline is slipping. I tried and failed about halfway through, I'm ashamed to say :o .

Ooh that sounds yummy margaretclare - I'd have to miss the greek yoghurt sadly. Causes me more trouble than it's worth, though I don't have trouble with other dairy products, just anything with live bacteria in it. Don't ask, you really don't want to know :o .

You could have creme fraiche instead of yogurt. We use Greek yogurt instead of cream.

We're just going to put chicken in oven. We won't want it until later because we just had a nice breakfast of what DH calls 'grenkies' i.e. bread soaked in beaten egg and fried. It's what his grandma used to make. Although I'm sure she didn't do a slice of bacon with it <VBG>

At this moment the snow is coming down and we are not going out. We normally do go to church on Easter Sunday morning, but the snow is beginning to look as if it means it. So God will have to forgive us for once.

You steam your roast beef? I've never heard of that, I roast mine in a roasting bag.
If you like fine roast beef, have you tried Sainsburys Taste The Difference?

I put the beef onto the "tray" at the top of the pressure cooker and cook for around 15-20 min. Sometimes if i want "soft" veg i add cabbage to the bottom of the pressure cooker and a few carrots & potatoes around the beef.
No i have not had Sainsburys Taste the Difference, i will try it, thanks :D

Well we have just had roast turkey, pigs in blankets, stuffings x 2, broccolli, cauliflower and savoy cabbage, mixed roast veggies (parsnips, sweet pots, butternut squash, onions, carrots etc) and cheese sauce and/or gravy - YUM!

I am quite pleased with myself, because I did all this, plus chocolate pancakes for youngest and everything came out well and also I didn't get stressed! Probably because it was just for us.

    Happy Easter everyone!

Forgot to say the reason I came on here was to find an interesting use for the leftovers, lol - then got sidetracked as usual, lol.
