Put my mind at rest re mortgage offers

Its bank holiday so I can't speak to anyone!

Yesterday we should have completed on our remortgage. We had the offer through on the 13th and the day before completion they rang to say everything was OK just needed to check details etc.

Thing is last night the surplus funds did not land in the bank account - it could have been a genuine !!!! up and they are sending a cheque out or it could be bank holiday and my internet account has not updated - who knows!

Question I am asking is if they have made an offer I thought it was only us that could back out - if you have a mortgage offer its yours? Is it please?! Just say yes lol!

    Yes:grin:

If you have had the formal mortgage offer it should not be withdrawn unless the lender finds out something untoward.

Thank you thats what I thought I suppose I shall have to wait until after bank holiday to see where the surplus is.

Many thanks I thought they couldn't but with the press at the moment peace of mind is not huge!

Surplus funds, as you put it, won't be paid to you by the lender but by the solicitors handling the remortgage.

In my experience, they are less than efficient and they will probably pay you by cheque rather than anything quicker.
