Anyone used bio-oil for light sunburn?

Off to Sharm in June/July & I'm fair skinned.
Hubby is very dark, he looks like an Italian before he goes away, a Turk in the middle of the holiday & if its a REALLY hot place, a Nigerian when we come home. AND HE'S NOT GRATEFUL FOR HIS OLIVE SKIN WHICH GRABS THE SUN:mad:
Anyway, enough about him;) . Bio-oil is susposed to be great for the skin & its quite expensive. I used a large bottle of it in Turkey last year as an aftersun & I used a large bottle of it during a sunbed course before going.
I have bought a bottle, they had a couple of £ off in boots;)
I know they say not to put oil on a burn. But I'm not talking about bad sunburn, that blisters or anything. I'm tallking about thirsty, dry sun parched skin or pink hot from a days sun skin.
So do you think bio-oil is good for this?
Oil is the best skin moisturiser, (it locks in more water after showering or bathing) but I wouldn't use it at home normally, too greasy, but you need a really moisturising one for after sunbathing.

Yo MrsE!
I know absolutely b8gger all about bio oil - just that I saw your name and thought I'd say 'Hi'!
I'm missing the 4x4 thread.... That was great fun!
I burn too - but as I'm not going on hols this year (unless get unlikely lottery win), I'm not bothered........... :rotfl:Genie

Terribly un pc this and very very unhealthy but.......
About 5 years ago, had booked Vegas for a fortnight, with two sons and their dad, we divorced in late eighties but get on well!
Sons take after their dad, who sound very like your husband re skin tones....
Well, I was very naughty and did sun bed thing for month or two, twice a week before we went and I was a lovely shade before we went and I made them look a bit pale....
Don't recommend that tho.
Not been on one since - although it used to help my skin condition, how weird is that??Genie

I'm not particularly fair skinned but I do "catch" on my face and shoulders and I used bio-oil on damp skin after my shower when I was in Sharm last year. It made my skin glow and really smooth. I propbably got one of the most even tans I've ever had. I say go for it. I also used a cheap in-shower aftersun too.
The sun is very intense out there but take it easy and you'll be fabulous.0 -

Like I said with my husband, he looks Italian in the winter (I don't just mean hes tanned, hes got black hair & those mediterainia olive looking features - but hes not slender with small feet like an Italian, nah hes more a big Greek with a big belly growing & getting hairier as he gets old, that what hes like a hairier Greek - has anyone else noticed how hairy Greek men are:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: )
This is a true story..........
We get off the plane in Iraklion, Crete - its a small mad airport, everyone all mixed in comings & goings. The Gatwick (ours) & Manchester plane came in virtually together. A man with a northern accent came up to my husband & said "whats the weather like pal, must be great judging by your tan":rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: He quickly follwed that with, "so how long have were you here?", hubby said about 10 minutes longer than you, I've just got off the Gatwick plane:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
It was really funny, we all had a good laugh.
It was very hot there that year, I have pictures taken at night & all you can see of him are eyeballs, teeth & clothes. No, it wasn't the camera, everyone else was in the right shade so you could see them.
I would NEVER EVER make him look pale, in the depts of winter he has a colour. He starts tanning when I book the holiday:D
Actually, its very annoying, because he doesn't appreciate it at all:mad:
I would love to have a year round tan. Flesh looks so less wobbly when its tanned, it looks like lard if its pale:o
Back to your post, I often do the sunbed thing, I don't know if it makes that much difference with me, but I might do it.
Edited to say, hubbys mum & dad divorded when he was a baby, hes never seen him since. His mum swears hes English, but we're all a bit sus on that one:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -

I do like it, but I wondered if everyone else agreed, because its not a "normal" aftersun is it?
But I think its better than a normal aftersun, but I wanted other opinions, I wasn't sure if I was being fooled by its expensive price tag & impressive sounding blurb on the box, I'm easily lead like that:o:rotfl:

Are sunbeds really really so bad???
My ex boss has psoriasis (think I've spelt that right) and used to go to hospital for intense 'sun bed' type treatment!
Few years back, when I could afford to just work part time, I used to have about 10 mins about twice a week in the winter and never got flare ups, I didn't have them to get a tan - just to get rid of the spots!!! It worked...:cool:Genie

Yeah to be honest, I have them before hols.
Don't know if I will bother with Sharm though.
2 weeks at 40 degrees should be enough to even tan me!0
