Registering as a non-tax payer

I'm not expecting to earn over the £5,435 personal tax allowance next year. Should I inform my bank / building society as soon as the new tax year starts in April?

Do I just go in and fill in a form or do I have to notify them in writing (it is a long time since I last did this!)

You will be asked to fill in form R85 by the bank. Best to phone or go in and see them.
