last tenants debts

hi dont know if this should go here or not but need some help..We moved into this property about 2 months ago did an exchange ...now we have been recieving letters for previous tenants, which i have been forwarding on to new address but i think something dodgy has been going on there has only been 2 tenants here since house was built the 1st tenants were italian the second were the ones we exchanged with... Now the letters we have been receiving are all debts the 1st names are always the same ..the surnames are different .they were not married , letters come for her and him in her surname .for her and him in his surname then for him and her in a different surname.... I dont know what to do... i know its wrong but the one in a differenty surname i opened this morning and it appears they are owing a large amount of money to catalouges.. i called the company on the letter and told them that i dont know that person on letter neither do the neighbours and asked them to stop sending letters ..the person on other end of phone took the account number and said oh they must of lived there as we had a large order to that address in november 07 ..he did say he will put on system no longer at this address but has anyone got any advice... i do keep sending the ones with different surname back saying no longer at this address but still keep receiving them

I agree, totally, with cleosmum - just mark any envelopes 'return to sender' and drop them in the postbox.
You are under no obligation whatsoever to give any details, either your own - or those of any previous tenant, to any debt collection company.

If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
