He finally TEXT me (i though that was a bit poor) on friday after I left quite a strong message on his voicemail and has arranged a meeting this friday.
Another thing - my unit trust was supposed to feed into my ISA but was set up wrongly from the start (May 2006) - this was the partners fault. My wife and I completed new paperwork last June and assumed it was all corrected. I checked my SJP accounts online last week and this still had not been changed. Unable to contact the partner I rang SJP myself- after explaining the situation in detail (jeez it was tough gettin through to them) they found the correct paperwork and admitted they hadnt acted upon it to set up the feeder. She said she would set it up immediately but I had to explain that it needed backdating cos the ISA had went up and the Unit trust had went down during the period. They say I wont be penalised but Im watching with interest0 -
What india funds do they offer?
What china funds?
financial?
agriculture?
property share?
natural resources?
focused BRIC?
focused emerging markets?
What variety of high yielding bond funds do they have?
Fair point, however, could it be that if they have faith in the fund manager of the Far East fund then they feel they don't need to limit the scope mandate to China only?0 -
If you want to check the quality of their fund offewrings you can do it here:

You dont limit any investment to just one area. You build in diversification and that is where SJP fall down. They cannot build in that diversification.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
I met the SJP partner on friday and have to say he was quite good at explaining why I should sit tight. In his opinion this is a downturn, of which theres been many over a long period, and the only thing that really matters is what I bought at and what I sell at after at least 5 years. He explained the fund managers I am with are some of the best (Woodford etc) and they are earning their money now.
He was very apologetic about the ISA/unit trust balls up and he reckons I might get some compensation from SJP.0
