Morrisons also sell the foil containers. They are in the home baking section with the flour.

if you've got a chinese supermarket nearby you can get reusable plastic containers, they're about £2 for 10 or you can get 500 for around £18 if you really want that many :p

Thanks for all the suggestions. I had never thought about trying a chinese supermarket - I have two very close by, so will pop in and ask.

  • Got all of my silicone bakeware in Boundary Mill (https://www.boundarymill.co.uk for details of where the stores are) - something like £8.50 per item - which isn't drastically bad compared to the steel equivalents and they squash up small to store in the cupboard.

In many cases it helps if you say where you are - someone with local knowledge might be able to give local specifics rather than general advice

All of my bakeware, when I can't afford Lakeland, comes from Tesco. Usually the savers range if I'm feeling particularly broke, but I find their regular range is quite reasonable and lasts well enough. I've just noticed that Morrissons have their starter home range. We got some stuff for the caravan from there and it's really quite good for the money.

If you do get a metal muffin tin try lining the bottom with the wax paper discs they sell for jam making - they fit perfectly and make turning out the muffins dead easy. The 1lb jam jar size is the one you want. I get mine from lakeland but I think you can get them in most kitchenware shops. They also fit the little metal pudding basins
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!
  • the plastic ones you can get 10 for £1 from Wilkos and also pounds shops
