In 2006 I was buying a flat and sourced the mortgage through a comparison site and using their service, for free. This wasnt L&C although I believe they are also good. The mortgage was from the Halifax and the rate was amazingly low - and fees free. (4.29....) We all remember the good ol days...
But i didnt buy the flat - survey problems, nor the next flat (same reason) - and it was 6 months later when I eventually got an acceptable flat and survey. By then the interest rate had gone up quite a bit. But the broker got me the same deal. I doubt I'd have done that on my own.
Deal is coming to an end in August and I will be back to the brokers, god love them.0
