Bailiff

Hi dont know if anyone can help but here goes.
Today had two bailiffs turn up wanting 900pound, or they will take my car. I said to them that when they sent me a letter 4 months ago that i could not afford to pay it in one go and could i pay it montly at 40pound they said no. Told them i was not working and couldnt afford it, they said they would send someone out to asses my suituation and come to an aggrement. No one turned up then today they turned wanting all the money or my car. They have taken my keys tax disc and documents for the car and have given me 7 days to pay. Is there anyway i can stop this action.

I can't suggest a course of action now they have your car keys etc, would suggest however you seek advice from the CAB. There is a forum here for you to look at debt matters:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.html?f=76
    or even better:
    http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/bailiffs-sheriff-officers/
to get more specialised advice, they may ask for the name etc of the baliffs. I hope you get this sorted, I don't know but if you can prove you need your car for work then they can't take your car. Please don't give them access to your home if you haven't already, consider requesting a copy of the consumer credit agreement from the baliffs, which they have to comply with in the time frame of 12 days and then a further 30 days, after 12 days the account is in dispute so the baliffs cannot take action, until they provide the cca. Send the cca request recorded signed for delivery and enclose a £1 postal order for the CCA. You will be advised better to the course of action on the Consumer credit forums than I can give you here. Good luck and please don't worry, this can be sorted out.

    hya christ,

I have been led to believe that if there is a court judgement it has become a debt, therefore they can secure you gooods , if there is no court judgement there is no debt outstanding and they cannot remove anything

    Hi,
You now need to act very quickly.
do you have a copy of the agreement?
how did you get the loan? Did the forecourt arrange it?
Was there ppi and gap insurances on it?
    Who is the lender?
    How much did you borrow?
