I have been reading this site for months now , took the plunge and went bankrupt back in feb 2008 , had or interview in feb too with my OH, was really nervous
but all went well ,he said it was straight forward , saw no problems and would recommend early discharge . i have now had a letter to say i need to be reinterviewed in april , has this happened to anyone else , if so is it common or is it something to seriously worry about . or could it just be a follow up. i paid our bankruptcy fees on credit card to a company that did it for us so was about 5000 pounds , thats the only thing i could think they could be querying. feeling all nervous again . all worried , again.

Hi Mags,

The OR may well be wanting to query that as 5k for going bankrupt through a company seems a hell of a lot, it only costs £485 to do it yourself, Was your bankruptcy extremely complicated that it needed 5k of specialist advice?

I am sure an expert will be along shortly to advise you, but if you could post a few more details about how? why? you went Bankrupt it may help somebody more knowledgable than me to give you some advice before you get too worried and stressed.

we went bankrupt as we came to sell our house and the secured loan company had
over valued our house ,so we were in negative equity and some large insurance policy on the loan that we took out with them had to be paid back too . so we were advised to go BK , we did it through a company as we were moving abroad and they said they could do it without us coming back. in the long run we do wish we had done it ourselves , but its too late now.

I think Teabreak is right on this. Though another reason could be that you have a new OR as the other has left and he just wants to get up to speed with things.

Why don't you give the office a ring and ask why they want to talk to you again. Then you could get yourself prepared and won't have to worry.

Ok Mags, first things first dont panic, what is done is done so try not to get too stressed, if the OR wants to re-interview it could just be to clear up some trivial facts, have you made contact with the OR since being informed of the second interview, OR's are mostly human and if you explain that you are concerned about the second interview they may give you a few details.

Easy for me to say but try not to worry too much, even if you were to recieve a BRO its not the end of the world, from the sounds of things you were a victim of circumstance and have not done anything foolish with your money, and the company you paid to go bankrupt was done in good faith and under advice, so unless you can identify somthing that you have done that is pretty wreckless, I would not worry too much. I am by no means an expert but I am sure someone with a good bit of knowledge will be along to advise you soon, Chin up.

hi thanks feeling a bit better now , it is a different person that is calling this time , so could be just a new OR will give them a ring and ask .
was very stressed the first time round just want to try and keep calm.
and get through it . we were advised that this was the best way but hadnt found this site at the time . now i know better . well fingers crossed it will be ok.
