Selling an idea

Does anyone know how I go about selling an idea?
I have an idea for a casino game (online only). It's a simple premise but it would need support behind in terms of customer base and I.T. setup and support - if I did it myself it would cost a fortune and take forever!

Anyway, I talked to BetFair who are interested but may not be in a position to implement the idea yet (at least they are talking about it a lot but not getting anywhere) so I want to spread the net as it were.
Is there a place I can go to 'sell' the idea? I know how difficult it is to keep hold of just the idea with intelluctual rights etc.

BetFair reckon it's a good idea which would be taken up by other casino's but I have a hard time getting through to other casinos - you just get a half-auomated "look we get lots of ideas so stop wasting our time" kind of reply.

Any helpd is appreciated.
Thanks.

  • First thing I would do is draw up non-disclosure agreements before you explain your product/idea to anyone. This will prevent anyone from copying it. Your idea will not be worth much for example if Betfair already know how to do it.

Is it unique idea, is it possible to patent it and then license it?
  • Thanks.
I only told BetFair enough to get them interested. Actually, it was they who suggested signing a non-disclosure agreement with them if/when we took things further. I have got plenty left in reserve!

It is a unique idea but the trouble is you can't patent ideas! It would be a case of entering a business agreement with someone after non-disclosure and then maybe agreeing to give them sole rights to it and me not giving an ideas to anyone else.
Really I am after other avenues of how to get the idea out into the open, or "sold" if you like. Not sure where I can get that done.
