Quidco - tracking problem (supplier problem not Quidco)

Hi all,
I'm having problems with Quidco, although it's not their fault! I applied for car insurance with a company via Quidco. I went through the whole process, right up to the end where I'd put my card details in to pay the deposit.
It then said they couldn't do an internet transaction and I'd have to phone to complete the transaction, which I duly did. BUt of course, I've missed out on Quidco now.
The problem is it doesn't recognise my registration number as I live in the Channel Islands.
Why can I go through the process yet be bombed out at the last second?
'Tis not fair
So I'm now paying more for my car insurance than I wanted and lost £100 in Quidco payments.
Grrr! Why do companies do this? Am I penalised because I live in the Channel Islands?
Jess

I think I know what insurance company you are talking about! The same happened to me - I reached the last page and was told to call! I quit at that point as I knew that would lead to zero cashback as Quidco states "transactions completed wholly online" - do you think they do it on purpose?!?!
In general, people have had problems with payouts from Quidco, whether they live in the Channel Islands or not.
I've had many many many problems, it's not usually Quidcos fault but the company just refusing to pay out, and unfortunately for us it is easy for them to get away with this. As the Quidco T&C states cashback is not guaranteed, and there is nothing much that can be done if a company refuses to pay out, apart from vent it out on these forums & serve as a warning to the rest of us.
In future only buy things that you are willing to pay for with or without cashback! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
